The article provides a provocative update on both the strides and the hindrances to Museum field, particularly conservation for African Americans and people of color. Topics include overview of African Americans of conservation of art by Mary Lou Hultgren; information on exhibition "To Conserve a Legacy: American Art from Historically Black Colleges and Universities", a movements in the field to introduce African Americans to the conservation field; and efforts to increase diversification.
