Steph Garcia

Project Manager

Steph Garcia (she/her/ella) is an organizer and artist. She strives to create more just spaces by leveraging art, design, and community engagement to give power to underrepresented communities in historically inequitable processes.

Since 2018, Steph has served as a freelance project specialist for Monument Lab, a nonprofit public art and history studio that cultivates and facilitates critical conversations around the past, present, and future of monuments. From 2019-2022, she was the engagement coordinator/specialist for Make The World Better (MTWB), a Philadelphia based nonprofit that connects people and inspires stewardship through public space revitalization projects. Steph also served as the 2018-2019 Van Doren Fellow at the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania.

Steph received her B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania in 2018. Her work has been shown in solo and group shows in Philadelphia. Her printed work is in archives across the country, such as the Joan Flasch Artists’ Book Collection at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Outside of work, she enjoys biking, trying new recipes, and exploring new places.
